Two Women Injured In Morning Crash In Seal Beach
Early Sunday after midnight, Pablo Lievans of Orange drove on the wrong side and failed to stop at a boulevard, overturning his car and crashing into Guy H. Melton's vehicle from Long Beach. Amelia Calac, a passenger in Melton’s car, suffered a sprained ankle and minor injuries and was hospitalized. Edna Johnson, riding with Melton, had a cut head and bruises and was treated at home. Neither driver was hurt.

Warning Post Needs Watchers for Army Air Corps

Beach Police Report Accident Increase
Seal Beach police figures show a definite rise in motor vehicle accidents. In August 1942 there were seven accidents with twelve injuries, one serious, but only three after dark. The prior year had three August accidents with five injuries, and July showed two accidents, three injuries, and one fatality.

Pearson Hurt In Auto Crash On Terminal Island
Homer Pearson a former Seal Beach police officer now with Kern Drilling was injured in a collision with a Navy truck on Terminal Island. He suffered several crushed ribs and the car was wrecked. He was treated at Atkinson Pollack Emergency Hospital and Community Hospital before being released Tuesday afternoon.

Henkey Enlists as Flying Officer Cadet at Maxwell Field
Wilfrid R. Henkey of Seal Beach California is enrolled as an aviation cadet in the Army Air Forces Pre-Flight School for Pilots at Maxwell Field Alabama. He will undergo nine weeks of training followed by 27 weeks of flight instruction toward wings and service as a flying officer. He is a Huntington Park High School graduate and Curtiss Wright attendee who began civilian flight training in San Pedro before joining on July 25, 1942 in Los Angeles.
