Gas Rations Upgraded For June Increases
Frank Balthis Jr of the Office of Price Administration announced June changes to gas rations for Southland motorists. The A-16 coupon becomes valid June 22 with a six-gallon value, up from four, and B ceilings rise to 650 miles from 400 on June 11. Balthis noted many car owners have lacked sufficient gasoline, and the new rules boost A ration by 50 percent for June 22.

OPA says five red stamps V2 W2 X2 Y2 and Z2 worth 10 points each total 50 points are valid June 1 to September 30. Five new blue stamps Di El Fi G1 H1 also worth 50 points start June 1 and end September 30. Six red and five blue stamps will be cancelled June 2, including Y5 Z5 A2 B2 C2 D2 and H2 J2 K2 L2 M2. Sugar stamps 35 ends June 2 while stamp 36 remains valid for five pounds through August 31.

Rendezvous opens this evening at 6 p.m. at 5907 East Second Street under owner C. H. Tomlin, former Seal Beach Trailer Park proprietor. The remodeled venue features patio umbrella tables and flowers, offering pan fried chicken dining in the dining room, patio, or car from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. Dinner is 6-8. 8-12 dinner with music. 12-2 midnight snacks. Chef Clemmons, ex Hilton Hotel, will prepare the meals. Tomlin has a background in restaurants and entertainment, including Castle Loma in Chicago and Show Boat amusements. Robert L. Herbey Lindley Kitchin aged 41 of 1014 Seal Way died Tuesday evening at Seaside Hospital Long Beach. Funeral services were at Pierce Bros. Chapel Los Angeles at 10 this morning. He was LA native and attended Irvine and Harvard military academies. A past president of Ramona Parlor Native Sons and member of Elks Lodge 99. Grandson of late Dr Walter Lindley. Office manager at Consolidated Steel Corporation. Surviving mother Flora L Kitchin and brother Harry Kitchin of Santa Ana.
