Seal Beach officials in regular session backed F W Hickman as defense council secretary with a confidence vote and discussed coordinating all defense department heads. Mayor Elmer J Hughes announced a forthcoming meeting of heads and plans to assure an adequate water supply during emergencies. Council urged compiling materials lists to prevent shortages as defense supplies remain uneven.

Registration and classification of registrants in Seal Beach Civilian Defense Council as of December 31, 1941 has been reported to the State by local secretary F W Hickman. Lions Raise 14 76 For War Relief
Lions club at Glide'er Inn Wednesday evening raised 14.76 for Emergency War Relief Fund of the American Red Cross and voted to become a grandparent to one of 300000 Chinese orphans. The first event Monday Jan 26 at 7:30 pm in Community Church Auditorium features Clark J. Higginbotham directing a program of Stars and Stripes Forever Marines Hymn 135th Field Artillery Anchors Away American Patrol Time Was Till Reveille Blue Skies and other numbers with a vocal chorus and popular tunes.
