National politics disrupt trade as banks withhold favors and gilt-edge securities fail to secure loans. Commercial paper loses value, leaving manufacturers and jobbers to liquidate stock for cash to survive the current financial strain.
We received a large importer offer last week to sell silks to us for a limited sum at a tremendous cash discount. Knowing the stock to be among the richest in the country, we accepted the deal despite full seasonal stocks.
First sale item is Lot 1 featuring 15 pieces of silk taffeta Armores with a full line of new combination effects. Normally sold for 62%4c, sale price set at 42 1 2c. The event occurs on Tuesday, October 20th.

Ten pieces of black gross grain brocade fabrics described as new with standard 100 quality appeal. Four pieces of 22 inch black silk rhadam patterns praised for superb finish and valued at least 85 cents each.
Four pieces of Black Satin Duchess fabric, 29 inches wide, valued at 76 cents per yard, offered for 53 cents in this sale.
