Masked intruders robbed Squire Bacon and wife at Lusk Avenue Halistead about 1 am. They received about 7 dollars then set fires in two rooms, threatening to shoot if noise was made. The blaze destroyed the building. insurance on house and contents was 1300 dollars.

Wilkess Harre Mac Neaten and John McDonald were involved after a May 1 encounter at Lackawanna avenue. McDonald allegedly assaulted the man and took $40, with Stairs later swearing out a warrant. McDonald was arrested and held on $1,000 bond as the case proceeded.
Frank Krammes of Aviversville was drawn into breaking rollers at the Gien dower colliery yesterday. He was crushed when a coal lump jammed the rollers and he was pulled through. He was found in the chute and taken to Fountain Spring State Hospital with doubtful recovery.
