Green Bay Wisconsin May 6 George W Laduke died today after eating meat that appeared diseased. Mrs Laduke bought the meat Thursday and the family of six, including four children, fell ill shortly after. A doctor treated them. Laduke, 45, a blacksmith, died in great agony.
Allentown Pennsylvania reports the death of 12 year old Nathan Millhouse from lockjaw caused by a gunshot wound. He was injured April 4 when Hilacom ee Raymond Lutke accidentally discharged a pistol, the bullet entering his abdomen.
Marlboro Massachusetts May 5 the fourth congressional Democratic convention elected delegates to Chicago and adopted a resolution endorsing former Governor Russell of Massachusetts for the presidency.
Holmes, facing execution for Pietzel murder, asks for more time to prepare. He has moved to a lighter cell near the scaffold but cannot see it. witnesses say he seeks a stay via a letter to Fahy and a reprieve request to Governor Hastings. Maurice and Wilbur Gleason, aged 8 and 6, climbed through a rear window at 5421 Hunter Avenue. They found a candle, started a fire that damaged the vacant home by about 3500 dollars, and escaped from a shed uninjured. Their mother took them home pending a morning hearing.
