In Ratesville two miles away a man named Spikey Jones unearthed a disturbed grave under a tree. He and Sheriff Johnson found Mrs. John Recd buried in night clothes and sacks, her neck bound, suggesting strangulation. Her husband left for Philadelphia with their daughter. an inquest is set for tomorrow.

Senator J. D. Johnson of Celina was attacked by two highwaymen near the state treasury in Columbus. He knocked them down and escaped. the robbers fled with their purses. Johnson reported the incident from the state capital.

Charters refused went to Cranton Allentown Lancaster and Wildiameport with hearings planned April 25. Lincoln March 27 coroners jury held William J Petthtt and John Miller responsible for giving whisky at a West Lincoln primary on March 21 that caused William Hoagland's death the next day. The same venue saw two other youths driven insane and two boys left in a near catatonic state after hours of intoxication. Hoagland leaves a wife.
