Chief Walker Details Fire Department Discipline Debate
Chief John H. Walker discusses a reprimanded permanent fireman who warned he would have his shield removed. He cites lax discipline, explains suspensions, and defends Oliver's ordinance for permanent staffing while criticizing Chittenden's plan as harmful to efficiency. He says councils block progress and urges public disclosure of the nameless offender.
