Harrisburg June 27. The annual report of Banking Commissioner Powers on Pennsylvania building and loan associations homestead loan and trust companies has been submitted to Governor Stone for 199. In the year 1899 or 1900, 1,874 associations chartered reported assets of 112,120,436.61 and receipts of 53,157,456.77, up 752,088.84. Shares in force 1,949,347. shareholders 2,814. Homes purchased or built 6,677. Forty-one associations reported 225,737 shares in force in state. 4,089,3441 real estate loans. 172,180 loaned on stock and own real estate valued at 264,451.05. Thirty-seven new associations began business. fifty-six wound up. Powers will reserve recommendations for his banks report to be submitted before the legislature meets.
