Injunctions Move Against Mt Vernon Street Railway

A new injunction was issued to restrain the Mount Vernon Electric Street Railway from laying tracks on streets in Winton borough. Michael Gallaher, a local property owner, files the complaint claiming injury to his property. The prior injunction, tied to an unrecorded borough ordinance, was dissolved as borough neglect invalidated the council’s action. The current suit rests on Gallaher’s tax payer status and seeks to stop track construction on Gallagher street and nearby streets. The injunction is returnable Saturday.
