Voices at Knox County public hearing on hospital tax district
Knox County Fiscal Court held a public hearing Friday on a proposed special taxing district for the Knox County Hospital. Supporters urged saving the hospital and restoring finances, while opponents warned of higher taxes and county exit from hospital operations. A two year trial was proposed, with district coverage potentially extending across Rex County if approved next week. Agreements with the court, health board, and library helped shape the plan.
