HERO program links Coronado students to work study
Coronado High School seniors in the HERO Home Economics Related Occupations program split days between class and off campus employment. Eight girls in Ms. Williams' class work in day care, nursing home care, fabric coordination, and food service while earning wages and graduation credit. The program, one of three co ops, aims to build career focus and community ties, with apprentices staying on for a year and many planning college.
