An all woman superior court jury in Scottsdale failed to reach a verdict in the robbery trial of 26 year old twin brothers Mansour and Nasser Haghighi. Judge George Sterling discharged the jury after a 7 to 5 deadlock for acquittal. Their kidnapping case also ended in a deadlocked jury.

Twins Cleared or Charged in Scottsdale Robbery Case
The robbery at the Safe Way store on Scottsdale and Thomas roads last March led Judge George Sterling to lock the jury after a late verdict attempt. Enrollment Up 1684 in Scottsdale Schools This Week
There were 1,684 more students in Scottsdale elementary and high schools this week than a year ago. Assistant School Superintendent Al Flowers said enrollment rose across the district’s 16 elementary schools with some using off campus rented facilities to handle the increase, totaling 15,766 pupils this week up from 14,848 last year.

Three Injured In Scottsdale Car Accidents
Three people were hurt in Scottsdale car crashes on Thursday. Cletis Crossland, 37, sustained cuts and bruises after his left side was struck by Phrona Magneson, 60, who was cited for failure to yield. Crossland went home with friends for treatment. Ruth Ann Sutherland drove herself to Scottsdale Baptist Hospital after a crash at Scottsdale and Jackrabbit Roads. Cecile Prichard injured her arm in a crash at Grover Street. No cause details were given for the 10 a.m. incident. Pre school predictions show elementary peak around May at 16 500 students. District enrollment expected to rise to 21 658 this year with 891 teachers.

Two aircraft accidents near Phoenix killed two men and left six others unharmed.
