A Phoenix man Peter T. Hudson aged 39 and his five year old son Perry were injured when their motor scooter collided with a car at 7400 E McDowell at 6 p.m. Saturday. Hudson is in satisfactory condition at Scottsdale Baptist Hospital. his son was treated and released. Callie Darby Engle, 44, was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
Wisconsin Tax Commissioner John S. Gronouski was named postmaster general in the Kennedy cabinet. Gronouski, a 43 year old Democrat, will succeed J Edward Day, whose resignation took effect a month ago.

Scottsdale Police Chief Walter Nemetz announced hunters may not discharge firearms within city limits due to ongoing trouble this year. Dove hunters were active under a nonrenewed city state agreement. An eight year-old quarter horse was shot and died after injuries. a mare died at Sam Flake's ranch two days later.
Stone Johnson, rookie Chiefs flanker back and former Olympic sprinter, died Sunday night from a broken neck suffered nine days earlier in an exhibition game against the Houston Oilers in Wichita.
A federal judge issued a temporary restraining order blocking Governor George Wallace from obstructing court ordered integration at Murphy High School in Mobile. Wallace had mobilized state troopers to seal white schools in three Alabama cities and denied entry to Black students attempting to enroll.
Sharon Armentrout an 18 year old ASU education major from Scottsdale was chosen Miss Scottsdale, after beating two finalists. The event, sponsored by the Phoenix 20 30 Club, raised funds for area children’s charities. Runners up were Nancy Ann Blakistone and Nancy Ann Maule. Tickets sold at Fashion Square and Bill's Record Shops.
