The Weather Bureau warned Belize and Yucatan to brace for the worst hurricane in six years. Hurricane Hattie, with 150 mph winds and 15 foot tides, was forecast to hit between Belize and Chetumal, Mexico, tonight or Tuesday before noon as it moves westward. Forecasters called it the most severe hurricane in the area since Janet in 1955.
