Ferry's pilot drank before Mississippi River collision

Coroner reports the ferry pilot Capt. Egidio Auletta had a blood alcohol level of .09 percent and was impaired at the time of last week's disaster on the Mississippi River. The Frosta tanker then overturned and ran over the loaded ferry, killing about 100 people as divers recovered bodies and survivors recounted the chaotic moments before impact.

City approves grant for airport impact study and lease plan

Scottsdale approves a 55 962 federal grant for an environmental impact statement on a master plan update and runway expansion. A second fixed lease operation for four acres near the control tower is favored with a regular vote next week.

Arcadia Considers Middle School After Parent Survey

About half of the 687 returned questionnaires favor the plan for a district middle school in Arcadia. A board vote is expected in December or January, with a site to be chosen among Kachina Ingleside Tavan or Kaibab while Hopi remains K-8.

CAP board seats mix of incumbents with potential conflicts
