Boy Spots Car in Canal and Discovers Body

Patrick Marlow a 16 year old student from Saguaro High School discovered a car submerged upside down in the Arizona Canal Monday morning after riding along the canal bank He and friend Bob Carvelho retrieved help and Marlow entered the water to inspect the vehicle finding a body in the front seat The Scottsdale auto dealers Reese were listed in connection with the incident.

Scottsdale Road bridge across Salt River moves to advance engineering and right of way. Foul play feared in disappearance of Arizona couple

Rio Grande County Sheriff Ed die Haefeli said foul play is suspected in the September disappearance of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Moeller of Phoenix. The couple’s pickup camper was found near Del Norte and FBI involvement is expected to determine cross state crime. Evidence found near the truck is cited as showing signs of foul play. The FBI lab in Washington will analyze it. The Durango FBI agent is leading the case with possible ties to Colorado and New Mexico. The Moellers were last seen Sept. 14 in Durango and were due back Sept. 23 after a Southern Colorado trip.

Gulf tanker still ablaze off Louisiana coast

The 572 foot Gulf tanker burns after explosions in engine and pump rooms as the salvage tug Titan reaches the scene. The Coast Guard reports the ship settled deeper in the water and a salvage attempt awaits safer conditions. Thirty three crewmen escaped and three burned sailors were airlifted for treatment.
