Local Student Wins Contest in Baton Twirling
Laura Sahlin a 14 year old majorette from Coronado High School captured first place in the junior twirling division at the state baton twirling championships. She also won first runner up in the junior Miss Majo rette of Arizona. Sahlin belongs to the Thunderbird Baton Corps of Phoenix and performs with the Coronado band. Her parents are Maj and Mrs Bruce A Sahlin of Scottsdale. The Mesa contest director was Sandy Finley, former ASU majorette.
