Scottsdale sewer system plan costs 8.8 million if voters approve
The city outlines an eight point eight million dollar five city sewer program funded by a seven point five million revenue bond with the balance in bonds. If approved Scottsdale would issue four point one seven million for 1964 1965 and add phased expansions to 1990. Projects include new lines treatment capacity and extensions with contingencies and federal grants.

Youth Killed in Scottsdale Crash. Two Injured
A Kansas City man is dead and two Scottsdale youths are in critical condition after a car rolled seven times near Scottsdale and Jomax Roads in the early hours. Dennis A. Stanley 21 of Kansas City died in the crash. Muriel Murphy 19 and Boyd O Malley 20 were seriously injured. The car owned by Flora O Malley left the road at high speed, rolled 756 feet and threw occupants from the vehicle. Stanley's funeral will be in Kansas City.

The Supreme Court refused to reconsider its 5 to 3 ruling granting Arizona a victory over California in Colorado River water distribution. The decision, handed down June 3 by Justice Hugo L. Car Runs Through Bedroom Wall Leaves Sleep-er Unharmed
A runaway car crashed into a nine year old boy’s bedroom wall late Saturday night. Steven Smith aged 9 suffered only a small scratch while the driver William S. Turrentine 22 faced reckless driving charges. The collision damaged three homes on North 74th Street and caused over 5000 dollars in damage. Turrentine posted bond and was released from jail.

County Board Approves PV Comprehensive Study
Maricopa County and Paradise Valley agreed to a three part study by the Planning and Zoning Department at a cost of 5800 to 6380 dollars. Mayor Jack Huntress and the town council requested the study in March and met planning officials on October 8. The report will cover land use population traffic road maintenance flood control and water sewage and refuse disposal with the sanitation division handling the third part and no detailed engineering plans included.
