Scottsdale area schools plan early dismissals Tuesday for the first quarter day of the year. Elementary schools starting at 8 30 a m will release grades one through three and special education at 12 30 p m. Kindergarten and grades four through eight dismiss at 1 15 p m. Schools starting at 9 a m will dismiss special education at 12 30 p m with grades one through three at 1 p m and grades four through eight at 1 45 p m Mohave Middle School will release students at 1 30 p m.

Reflectorized plates may be phased out in Arizona
Phoenix UPI reports the Arizona Motor Vehicle Division chief David Campbell told the Legislative Budget Committee that reflectorized license plates could be phased out as a cost saving. He noted front and rear reflectorized plates would cost 85 cents per car in 1969, while non reflectorized plates would be sold for 22.5 cents per pair.

The U S Post Office raises parcel post and catalog rates effective today in Scottsdale. Postmaster C O Wilson says average increases about 10.5 percent, adding roughly 10 cents per parcel. Backfire Causes Car Damage in Scottsdale Area
