DPS to probe charges against Scottsdale Judge Roth
Scottsdale Mayor William C. Jenkins announced that the Arizona Department of Public Safety will investigate allegations against City Magistrate Dan Roth. Jenkins said DPS director Vernon Hoy agreed to conduct an impartial probe and report findings to the Scottsdale City Council. City seeks condemnation of Paradise Valley Water Co lines
The City of Scottsdale filed a petition in Maricopa County Superior Court to condemn Paradise Valley Water Co lines running within the city limits. City official Daniel Raby said negotiations continue for purchase, with an agreement possible soon as the city plans to add the lines to its system. The lines serve 700 to 800 homes in a area bounded by Scottsdale limits, the Arizona Canal, Indian Bend Road and Chaparral Road. The purchase is part of a $4 million water system improvement plan. Aetna Life and Casualty subsidiary AL&C is the ranch developer after Kaiser Aetna split.
