Almost too young Tarkington buried with military honors
Curtis Ray Tarkington Scottsdale's first Viet Nam casualty was buried with military honors. Ninety-nine attendees included 82nd Airborne pallbearers. The 19 year old paratrooper was killed Oct 6 near Bien Hoa while serving with his division. He lay in a white casket with flag, and a two block long car procession escorted to St Francis Cemetery for burial. Survivors include his parents, a brother, a sister, and grandparents.
