New York stocks edged higher in a technical upswing as the Dow Jones rose 2.86 to 821.03 by mid afternon. Gainers led decliners on the NYSE with moderate trading volume about 14.38 million shares. The Fed reported a large money-supply rise fueling expectations of tighter credit. analysts said investors had priced in the news. The NYSE composite fell 0.03 to 51.19 and the AMEX market value index slipped 0.01 to 115.60.
A two six hour seminar on business survival skills will be held next month at the Scottsdale Center of the Arts.
