Scottsdale residents are asked to support the Community Chest as volunteers prepare for a house to house drive starting Thursday October 21. The fund aids the sick elderly families and children and is financed by local faiths races and labor.
Cub Master Alexander Laird of Cub Pack 101 requests local ladies to volunteer as den mothers to supervise three new dens formed from applicants. Three area placements are needed Ingleside district south of town and central town. Contact Laird at Laird Farm and Garden Supply or call 6 2888.
The Women's Auxiliary of Sipe- Peterson Post No. 44 American Legion holds a regular business meeting Thursday evening October 14 at 7 30 in the Scottsdale Legion hall. All members urged to attend. Death Valley in California lies 200 feet below sea level.
An Arizona evening brought neighbors and friends to George Sonny Thermas home on Wednesday night October 13 for a steak fry. Attendees included Mesdames and Messrs Sonny Thomas and sons Jack Crews Kenton Scott Clyde Dossey Ray Swartz Clifford Hites John Mathias Ralph Pennington E D Brown Eugene Flanagan Henry Farlee and others Jerry Lutes and Jimmy Tipton. The event highlighted community fellowship with a safety message about the value of life.
