Tax-based divorces spark couple's repeated marriages
Ma and Mrs Hé David Boyter plan a second divorce and a third marriage to protest higher taxes for married couples. They marry in 1966, divorced in 1969, remarry in 1970, and intend a November Dominican Republic trip for a quick divorce and return to single status for tax benefits. The pair, both DoD employees earning about $23,000, say the IRS ruling on such divorces will determine if they continue.
