Woman's tip locates car clears hit and run case
A Scottsdale woman alerted police to a blue 1959 Cadillac with California plates IJH 822 linked to two Friday hit-and-run crashes. The car damaged at least 800 dollars after rear ending a 1965 Ford on Old Scottsdale Road and colliding with a 1963 Plymouth on North 70th Street. Robert G. Hawley of Reseda, California was identified as the car owner. police are unsure who was driving during the crashes.

About 2 000 communist troops slipped through a joint American Vietnamese operation in the SOUI LA TINH VALLEY 25 miles northeast of An Khe. Prisoners said the Song Lo Regiment withdrew Saturday before Operation Shining Bayonet. Casualties were light with nine prisoners taken and 40 suspects detained. American forces also found a Viet Cong training camp a deserted hospital and a workshop with sewing machines and uniforms.
