Scottsdale adopts updated monthly refuse service rates
Resolution No 354 amends the 1964 refuse service rate schedule for Scottsdale. It directs the City Treasurer to bill all refuse generators under the revised formula, sets no charge for regular twice weekly pickup at the right of way, and lists minimums and special rates for off right of way and container casters. Swedish airliner crash leaves thirty one dead
An airliner attempting a landing at Barkankra Air Base in rain and mist struck a power line and crashed on its back. Thirty one died and ten were injured of the 43 aboard. The Convair Metropolitan from Stockholm was to stop at Halmstad but weather halted plans. Civil Defense volunteers aided in rescue as survivors and victims remained trapped.
