Scottsdale Requires Sewer Hookup for New Monte Vista Tracts
Scottsdale officials annexed two tracts on Monte Vista from Exeter to Camelback and north of Monterosa for 10 to 12 future homes and ordered Allied Construction Co to connect new houses to the city sewer. The Allied subdivision now uses the Phoenix sewer system with out-of-city charges. Phoenix bills $3.50 while Scottsdale charges $2.50 monthly. About 50 Allied homes in Scottsdale currently rely on Phoenix sewers.

Navy patrol bomber missing off Virginia coast
A Navy patrol bomber with 11 men aboard was reported missing and believed to have plunged into the Atlantic off the Virginia coast. Two bodies, apparently crewmen, were recovered and a liferaft bearing the squadron initials was also found.
