South Viet Nam police search for four U S Air Force sergeants who were kidnapped by Viet Cong after a late night attempt to return to Saigon from a beach resort. Military officials say the incident occurred during a hazardous after dark auto trip and they encountered a Communist road block.
A dispatch from Red China reports Peking sent a warm message to Moscow describing Sino Soviet friendship as unbreakable and lasting. The message was issued on the anniversary of the Russian revolution.

Barry Goldwater told the Western States Republican Conference that radical leftists who burned draft cards have edged toward treason. He urged focusing on the radical left rather than witch hunts, citing their Democratic alignment, calls for Red China recognition, disarmament, and Cuba friendship.
