City approves three improvement districts with rate changes
City council last night approved three improvement districts under existing bonds with a 44 percent interest rate. The next district will face 7 percent. candidates include Vista Bonita or Thornwood Acressewer improvements. Resolutions also authorize 610000 for Scottsdale McDovwell storm drains, 18000 for Western Villa sewer, and 62000 for Whitwood Acres Hidden Village sewer near 68th Street Lafayette Boulevard.

Police say burglars picked a carport door lock and stole over 700 dollars in valuables from Patricia Harrach’s residence at 5628 East Oak including a TV set radio shotgun money and jewels. Driver reports threat after traffic dispute on Hayden Road

Fire incidents across Scottsdale and Beirut report
The Rural Fire Department extinguished a grease fire at the Saguaro Restaurant on First and Scottsdale Roads with no damage. A separate blaze at 222 E Fourth St caused about 50 dollars damage to the engine compartment of a car, no cause found. Grass and weeds along 68th St and Virginia were also put out with no damages.
