Scottsdale teens win trip to NASA related future engineers fair
Arcadia High School graduates Fred Peters and Andy Smith, both Scottsdale residents, won sweepstakes at the Southwest Regional Science Fair at Fort Huachuca Arizona earning an all expense paid trip to the Future Engineers Science Fair at Edwards AFB California in August. Their 15 foot rocket powered by liquid oxygen and methyl alcohol reached 40000 feet altitude and won multiple honors including NASA rocket propulsion and Air Force space technology awards. The project features a radio transmitter 16 mm camera and a guinea pig nose cone apparatus. Peters plans dentistry and Smith electronics engineering and they fundraised for the $1000 rocket.

Steers Killed By Car North Of Scottsdale
Two steers died after a car struck a small herd on Scottsdale Road north of Pinnacle Peak Road. The D C Brown Ranch of Scottsdale owned the cattle. Driver Sam D Ladd of 3240 E Garfield Phoenix said he could not stop in time to avoid the crossing cattle.

Aspirin Warning Issued by Medical Educator

Three year old Great Dane Tasia owned by Mr and Mrs Ed Reuben of 6105 KE Camelback Road delivered eight pups Tuesday. By 11 am today she had two more, bringing the total to eleven with one or two more expected. The litter far exceeds the usual two pups. The dam and family are reported doing fine.
