Foundation Won’t Permit Use of School by Other Groups
Arizona Foundation for Blind Children officials told the Civic Coordinating Council they will not amend their lease for the Godfrey Little School at the 27acre Community Center to allow outside groups. The council owns the building at Hinton Ave and Second St. while the foundation operates a braille book making recording and counseling program for blind children. The council discussed hours and alternatives as Parks and Recreation proposed programs for retarded children and seniors, but the foundation argued outside use would disrupt their work and the building is used mainly during the day for foundation activities with occasional children present.
