Youth cut in alleged assault at Hohokam School
A 16 year old identified as Joe Sharkozy suffered an eight stitch cut to his left arm after an alleged assault at a graduation dance at Hohokam School. Sharkozy and four friends were told to leave grounds or police would be called when a 41 year old man grabbed him and threw him to the ground. The man claims Sharkozy pulled away causing the fall. no arrests were made. Relatives note Sharkozy previously endured a severe burn incident last summer requiring large blood transfusions.

Carpenter collapses and dies at Scottsdale construction site
A 59 year old carpenter Everett Mallory of 7945 BE Moreland Scottsdale collapses at 23023 N Scottsdale Rd and dies at Scottsdale Baptist Hospital from unknown causes. Police say he had just reported for his first day of work and an autopsy is planned.

Helicopter shot down. two generals rescued in Vietnam
A US helicopter carrying Maj. Gen. John Cushman and Lt. Gen. Ngo Quang Truong was shot down 15 miles north of Ca Mau in the U Minh forest. The two generals and four crew members were rescued within minutes by another helicopter. the generals were unhurt while the pilot and co-pilot were wounded.

Police investigate pair of Scottsdale burglaries
Scottsdale police report two burglaries with a microphone stolen from Navajo School and camera equipment plus jewelry taken from the home of Vance Sloan at 6835 E. Virginia Ave. The garage window was forced, a white two door vehicle seen nearby, and a dark complexioned suspect aged 22 to 35 described. The microphone was taken from the public address system sometime between Friday night and Monday morning.
