Swapping a bat for books at Hopi Library program
In Scottsdale the Junior Great Books program gathers seven graders and their leaders to discuss Robert Robinson Crusoe and related topics. The group meets biweekly under Mrs. Van Nimwegen and Mrs. Badertscher, emphasizing student preparation and civil discussion without a teacher student dynamic. Two training courses are planned for summer to extend group leadership. Bill Van Nimwegen, injured in a fall, is cited as a cautionary note about injuries from activities outside reading.
