Fire hazards from weeds and dry grass warned by Chief Murray
Robertson of the Rural Fire Department said weeds and dry grass in the Valley pose a fire hazard through the summer. Residents can reduce danger by cleaning vacant lots and removing dry grass. On Wednesday three grass fires were fought, one near a corral on Test E Camelback Rd at 4:37 pm, with 17 firefighters. no homes or corrals were damaged. Fires at 76th St and Camelback at 6:50 pm and 78th St and Beatrice at 10:20 pm had unknown causes and caused no damage.
