Nimbus spacecraft destroyed in Pacific explosion after launch

Firefighters answered two calls Friday at 8502 East Rancho Vista to extinguish two fires believed vandalized. The first blaze, at 7 36 p.m., burned grass and brush beside the home. the second, at 11 10 p.m., damaged the door area between the screen and front door with about 25 dollars in damage. Residents were away. Earlier, at 10 26 p.m., another grass fire at Second Street and Orange was of unknown origin and caused no damage.

Marines and South Vietnamese clash with Ho Chi Minh corps near Da Nang
U S Marines led by Capt Robb joined 2 000 South Vietnamese troops in a three day battle against elite North Vietnamese palace guards near Da Nang.
