Woman Slightly Hurt in Scottsdale Car Crash

A 29 year old Phoenix woman Judy Nichols was treated and released after a two car crash at 6811 B Thomas Rd Scottsdale Police said her car stopped at the light and was rear ended by a vehicle driven by Lee Wilcox 35 of 8526 E McDonald Wilcox was not hurt and cited for failure to control a vehicle.

Safety patrols honored at Scottsdale pool picnic

Sheriff L C Boies and the Maricopa County Sheriff's Mounted Posse sponsor a Saturday picnic for 800 to 1,000 school safety patrols from over 30 county schools at the Scottsdale Pool and Second Street site. Patrols oversee crosswalks halls and playgrounds and will enjoy hot dogs soda ice cream and swimming from 10 a.m. into the afternoon.

Lower voting age urged by Hayden aide in Senate

Roy Elson administrative assistant to Senator Hayden urged the Senate subcommittee on constitutional amendments to lower the voting age to 18. United Press International reports 72 dead with thousands injured as tornadoes struck 11 states including Arkansas Iowa Illinois Indiana Minnesota Nebraska Missouri Tennessee and Mississippi.
