A group of Scottsdale mothers report a half finished backyard pool behind a year vacant house at 7318 E La Reata. They say the gate is often left open by would be buyers and the pool water is filthy and dangerously shallow. They claim no local ordinance or owner action can force safety steps. The county sanitarian says the house has no owner, real estate agents say they cannot intervene. The mothers fear a possible drowning as authorities do not act.

Man found guilty in jail cell blaze
A Scottsdale man, Charles Brenner, 24, of 7021 KE Earll, was found guilty by Judge Edward Boyle after a two hour trial of destroying city property and driving while under the influence. He received a 250 fine for DUI and 100 for destruction of police property.
