Burns and fall injuries plague Scottsdale area workers
Two city employees were treated and released Wednesday at Scottsdale Baptist Hospital for burns suffered when a city tank truck caught fire while painting road stripes. Chief Murray Robertson said fumes caused the blaze, with about $300 damage. Maintenance man William Blumhart, 53, was hospitalized after falling from the roof of Saguaro High School and sustaining a back injury.

A 67 year old former air mail pilot, S. W. Bill Hackbarth, completed a 3000 mile nostalgic trip in a 50 year old rebuilt mail plane. He landed at Anacostia field while dignitaries waited at National Airport. He then departed to National Airport after declaring he was asleep.

John Paul Reese 69 of 5800 E Washington died at Scottsdale Baptist Hospital after a fall from a six foot ladder at his home about 12 30 pm. Police said he had a skull fracture cerebral hemorrhage fractured left shoulder and facial bruises. Coroner investigation underway.
