MAG Abandons Papago Freeway Plans in Phoenix Area
The Maricopa Association of Governments votes 19 to 3 to drop the Papago Inner Loop and Papago West Freeway to 67th Avenue. It plans a 370000 study by Gruen and Associates to route a new I-10 connection from the Maricopa Freeway to between 67th and 91st Avenues and urges opening construction from Oglesby Road to 91st Avenue. The Gruen study should take eight months, guiding a new I-10 hookup.
