Rosenthal charges Pentagon aided John Wayne film
Rep. Benjamin Rosenthal released a GAO report accusing the Pentagon of subsidizing The Green Berets with about 1 million dollars in support to Batjac Productions. The film used Fort Benning for over 100 days and involved troops helicopters and equipment. Wayne and Batjac deny taxpayers were short changed.

Two Vehicle Crashes Injure Teen and Boy in Scottsdale
A 17 year old girl Ruth Hanslid of 8743 E Forrest was westbound on Coronado Rd and caused a four vehicle collision damaging four vehicles and a trailer. Police cited her for failure to control. A second crash at 64th St and Camelback Rd injured a 12 year old passenger in a two car crash. Police cited Joan Ryan for failure to yield.

South Vietnamese troops and tanks broke the Communist ring around Ben Het, killing about 214 North Vietnamese and opening a new supply lifeline.
