Scottsdale marks its tenth anniversary tomorrow since the county supervisors declared the town officially incorporated on June 25, 1951. The push began in late 1950 amid demands for fire police protection and street lighting as the community grew from about 1,500 residents to a potential tourist center.
Sen. Barry Goldwater told Young Republicans at their national convention that mankind must choose between world wide communism and the belief that man is a free child of God.
