Commission to rule on new Apache Airlines owner approval
The Arizona State Corporation Commission heard whether the new owner of Apache Airlines may take over service from the previous owners. Howard Roth, named owner, testified he would invest up to 300000 dollars via Swift Air to run the airline in the first six months. The previous president George Dembow offered to sell his stake for one dollar and forgive 400000 in debts to avoid bankruptcy.

Fall ruled cause of death in Papago Park incident
A coroner's jury ruled 17 year old Coggins died from injuries consistent with a fall from a Papago Park butte after June 6. The inquest noted a blood alcohol level of .10 at death and found no detectable drugs. Witnesses recalled Miss Coggins stepping back and toppling over the edge while police cars were below.
