The end of a major prison break chase came as two convicts Kaiser and Collins were killed in a cave near Superior after a daylong pursuit by more than 200 posse members. Navarro surrendered after learning of their deaths. others were captured nearby following a high speed chase in Phoenix.
British lawyer Michael Eddowes says Christine Keeler told him her Soviet Embassy lover sought information on the delivery date of nuclear warheads to West Germany from John Profumo. He aired the claim to the Evening Standard days before Parliament debates security risks in the Profumo case.
President Kennedy secured a pledge from organized labor to back a five point program against job discrimination. The plan seeks top level AFL CIO action in 30 to 40 cities, bi racial councils, voter registration drives, more responsible positions for Negroes, and support for Kennedy social welfare legislation.

Federal agents re arrest Jane Anne Parris alias Bowers 28 in Phoenix after she visited the FBI to collect seized property from an Oklahoma City bank holdup. They recovered 8000 dollars and a 357 Magnum pistol from her waistband. She had been released on 7500 bail and allegedly threatened a witness.
