Broadway-Hale Stores Inc reports first quarter ended May 3 with 1 percent gains in sales and earnings. Consolidated sales reach 131.316 million, earnings before minority interest 2.824 million, net 2.216 million or 26 cents per share, on 6.36 million shares. Expansion includes 51 stores across CA TX AZ NV and a Broadway at Los Arcos Scottsdale project set to open in fall 1969.

Paradise Valley land valuations cut by county assessor
Maricopa County Assessor Kenneth Kunes recommended lowering two parcels of unimproved Paradise Valley land to 1500 dollars per acre as part of tax equalization.
