Scottsdale man gets 3 to 10 years for 1970 slaying
John W. Stanley, 45, of 3 N Kalarams, Scottsdale, was sentenced to three to 10 years in Arizona State Prison after pleading guilty to voluntary manslaughter in the Dec 26 1970 death of Leo Francis Emery, 38. Judge Howard Thompson imposed the term with potential parole in about 18 months. Emery was killed after a dispute over parking a car on Stanley’s property.

Car crash ends with arrest after early morning chase
Paul Kaczmarcyk of 7046 E Polk was arrested after a southbound crash on 74th Street damaged a parked car and a fence then struck two trees. He fled, was found near 625 N Scottsdale Rd, and faces charges including intoxicated driving and leaving the scene. Damages totaled about 1300 to the parked car and 800 to his vehicle.
