The Vista del Camino Scottsdale Public Library branch at 7700 E Roosevelt closes after Saturday due to low use. A self contained bookmobile, funded by a state grant, will serve 13 Scottsdale locations starting Aug 15 with weekly routes to several parks centers and shopping areas.

Seven candidates attended the first Scottsdale School Board candidate event held last night with about 50 participants. The gathering included current board members, administrative natives, residents, PTA Community Parent Council, and Arizona and Maricopa County School Board Association reps. Announced attendees were Dr JD Lawson, incumbent Donald Swanson, Joe Jamison and Tom Carey with potential candidates Sam Childs, Richard Clark and James Thompson also present.
