Patrick P. Casey, 83, who moved to Scottsdale in 1967 from Chicago where he worked with the Chicago Transit Authority, died Monday at Scottsdale Baptist Hospital. He lived at 6826 E. Monterey Way and is survived by a son in Chicago, three daughters in Scottsdale and Green Bay, Wisconsin, 11 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. Services will be held at Thompson Funeral Home in Oaklawn, MI, announced Messinger Mortuary.

Stanley pleads guilty to reduced manslaughter charge
John W. Stanley of Scottsdale pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter in the December 26 shooting that killed Leo Francis Emery. The plea was accepted by Superior Court Judge Howard Thompson as a trial was to start, with sentencing set for July 29. Stanley remains free on bond. Police said the victim died after a shotgun blast during a car dispute.

Four Rural Fire Department units arrived at 3 53 a m and fought the blaze with extensive closet damage and smoke and heat damage to the bedroom and rest of the house.
