The sino soviet ideological talks in Moscow collapsed after 15 days with Moscow rejecting Peking's view that war and revolution are needed for world communism. Khrushchev hosted a farewell dinner for Chinese delegates who were to depart soon.
Moscow reports say Khrushchev announced agreement is in sight on a partial nuclear test ban pact among the Soviet Union United States and Britain. Diplomats say the six session talks in Moscow proceed to draft a treaty banning tests in outer space air and underwater with talks likely to initial next week.
A 527 foot ore carrier with 40 aboard sank in fog after hitting the freighter Roonagh Head in the St. Lawrence River. At least 23 feared dead, 17 survivors, 6 hospitalized, 4 uninjured. The Tritonica crew had four minutes to abandon ship before sinking.
In Cambridge Maryland Negro leaders say they will resume integration demonstrations tonight while the National Guard rules out demonstrations in the town. Brig Gen George Gelsion cites present conditions as blocking permits. Stanley Branche says they will push ahead and may seek talks with Maryland Attorney General Thomas Finan as 450 extra National Guard troops arrive to bolster relief forces.
Beginning Monday residents may find their names in the Progress Classified section. Scottsdale area residents could win two tickets to the Ice Capades opening August 15 in Phoenix. Winners must identify themselves at the Progress to claim tickets as the Ice Capades run nine nights at the Arizona Fairgrounds.
In Phoenix the Maricopa County NAACP invites all Phoenix Christian and Jewish church leaders to join a freedom march next Friday. Rev G Benjamin Brooks urged broad cooperation to pursue justice and racial equality. NAACP and Arizona labor leaders will cooperate on equal job opportunities with reps from NAACP Interdenominational Ministers Alliance and the Urban League.

Thunder, lightning and 32 mph winds struck the Valley last night bringing light rainfall. The storm caused window damage, power outages, and several auto accidents with minimal injuries. Weather obs noted a temperature drop from 102 to 76 in 20 minutes as winds gusted to 32 mph.
Scottsdale residents in the Desert Estates area plan an 8 p.m. meeting at 7021 FE Paradise Dr to discuss Scottsdale’s possible development of Thunderbird Field as a municipal airport. The meeting, called by the Desert Estates Property Owners Assoc., cites city plans for a commercial and industrial airport at the WWII pilot training base currently owned by the Arizona Conference of Seventh Day Adventists and used by Thunderbird Academy.
A federal bankruptcy referee scheduled Tuesday July 30 for a creditors meeting on the Black Angus restaurant bankruptcy. The meeting will be at 10 a.m. in Room 8421 of the Phoenix federal courthouse. The Scottsdale restaurant shows liabilities of 244 992 against assets of 348 262.
A blaze caused by a ventilating motor short circuit at a Teruel, Spain coal mine asphyxiated three miners and injured 21 others. Officials said none of the injured were in serious condition.
Scottsdale police say a burglar who took a S85 television set Friday was "being real considerate" as he turned on the air conditioner and relocked the door before fleeing. The offender left no obvious damages and the resident, C. Glenn Jacobs of 3319 North 66th Street, reported the incident.
The United States plans to close about 15 consulates worldwide, with six expected in Europe including Geneva Basel Venice Le Havre Turin and Manchester. Officials said the move targets reducing diplomatic postings and costs as part of a broader policy shift.
A seven year old Scottsdale boy Brad Henry King died after a clod of sun baked earth struck him in the chest while the family visited in Belen New Mexico. Sheriff office said the clod was thrown by Brad's brother Tim. An inquest ruled the death accidental. He died on arrival at Belen hospital near Albuquerque.
