Alley Becomes Battered Strip in Scottsdale Community
In Scottsdale, a 16-foot no man’s land between Moreland and Latham streets near Mereway Manor and McDowell Parkway has residents petitioning since 1961 to paved it. Staggs-Bilt would pay half if Mereway matches. Mereway claims no responsibility as it isn’t in its subdivision. Public Works confirms the plat misstates easements, and no clear path to improvement exists. Garbage bins will be wheeled to the curb every Wednesday and Saturday while residents await a resolution.
